
CONNECT 2022 will take place at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland in College Park, about 10 miles outside Washington, DC. There are lots of ways to get to the campus!
How to get to the Clarice
(planes, trains, & automobiles)

By car
The DC area has a lot of awesome things to offer. Alas, our traffic is not one of those things, especially around rush hour! Here are some suggested routes, but it’s good to have Google Maps or Waze along for the ride!
From Baltimore and points north, via I-95 South
- Take I-95 South to the Capital Beltway East (I-495)
- I-95 South will merge to the left, joining I-495
- Take Exit 23 “201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt”
- Proceed south on 201 in the direction of “Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg”
- At second light, turn right onto Campus Drive
- Proceed approximately two miles to U.S. Route 1
- Turn left onto U.S. Route 1
- Follow signs to the Clarice and Lot 1, the official parking for CONNECT 🙂
From Virginia and points south, via Maryland side of Capital Beltway (I-495)
Recommended:
- Take I-95 North to the Capital Beltway (I-495)
- Follow I-95/I-495 North toward Baltimore
- Take Exit 23 “201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt”
- Proceed south on 201 in the direction of “Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg”
- At third light, turn right onto Campus Drive
- Proceed approximately two miles to U.S. Route 1
- Turn left onto U.S. Route 1
- Follow signs to the Clarice and Lot 1, the official parking for CONNECT 🙂
Alternate:
- Take I-95 North to the Capital Beltway (I-495)
- Follow I-95/I-495 North toward Baltimore
- Take exit 25, “U.S. 1 South, College Park”
- Proceed approximately two miles on U.S. Route 1 South
- Follow signs to the Clarice and Lot 1, the official parking for CONNECT 🙂
From Washington, D.C. and points south or Baltimore and points north, via 295 (the Baltimore/Washington Parkway)
- Take 295 to its northern intersection with the Capital Beltway (I-95/I-495)
- Exit at I-95/I-495 North
- Stay in right lane
- Take Exit 23 “201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt”
- Proceed south on 201 in the direction of “Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg”
- At third light, turn right onto Campus Drive
- Proceed approximately two miles to U.S. Route 1
- Turn left onto U.S. Route 1
- Follow signs to the Clarice and Lot 1, the official parking for CONNECT 🙂
By rail
Take Amtrak to DC’s Union Station. Then…
- Transfer to Metrorail system. Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont); transfer at the Fort Totten station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
- Or take the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
- The university’s Shuttle-UM 104 buses pick up university-bound passengers at the metrorail station. Shuttle-UM service between the College Park Station (Green line) and the center of campus is very frequent – every 8 minutes peak hours most weekdays – is offered year-round, and is open to everyone – no ID required.
- Get off the Shuttle-UM at the Regents Drive Garage stop, which is a few minutes’ walk from The Clarice.
By plane
You can to get to College Park via public transportation from the airports, but it does involve a few changes along the way.
From Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)
- Taxi Service – The BWI Airport taxi stand is located just outside the baggage claim area of the Lower Level Terminal, near doors 5 and 13.
- Uber/Lyft/Via – Pickups are available on the Upper Level/Departures. If possible we recommend having the applications downloaded and payment information entered prior to arrival at the airport.
- Train/Metro or Bus/Metro
- The MARC (Penn Line) runs from BWI airport to the Union Station metro station.
- The MTA Commuter Bus 201 runs from BWI airport to the Shady Grove metro station. From there you can take the Metrorail to College Park and the surrounding areas.
- Shuttle Services – Two most popular shuttles are Go Airport Shuttle or SuperShuttle. Transportation can be shared and each person in the van is taken to their destination.
From Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA)
- Taxi Service – A variety of taxicab companies serve Reagan National Airport. There is a taxi dispatcher at each terminal to assist passengers.
- Uber/Lyft/Via – ​Pickups from are available at designated pick-up loading zones. If possible we recommend having the applications downloaded and payment information entered prior to arrival at the airport.
- Metro – There is a metrorail stop adjacent to Terminals B and C. Both the blue and the yellow lines stop at Reagan National Airport. From the airport metro station, you can take the Metrorail to College Park and the surrounding areas.
- Shuttle Services – Two most popular shuttles are Go Airport Shuttle or SuperShuttle. Transportation can be shared and each person in the van is taken to their destination.
From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
- Flyer Taxi – Washington Flyer Taxi Service serves Washington Dulles International Airport exclusively with 24-hour service to and from the Airport.
- Uber/Lyft/Via – Pickups are available on the lowest level of the airport. If possible we recommend having the applications downloaded and payment information entered prior to arrival at the airport.
- Bus/Metro – Washington Silver Line Express provides bus service from Dulles Airport to the Wiehle-Reston East metro station for a small fee. From there you can take the Metrorail to College Park and the surrounding areas.
- Shuttle Services – Two most popular shuttles are Go Airport Shuttle or SuperShuttle. Transportation can be shared and each person in the van is taken to their destination.
