We know you’re busy. So we’ve made registering for CONNECT 2022 as simple as possible!
Everyone who attends CONNECT 2022 will get to take the same 4 awesome workshops – that’s 12 total hours of drumming in 2 days! Because of this unique format, there’s no need for you to agonize over which workshops to sign up for. All you need to do is register!
Your registration includes EVERYTHING on our full schedule of conference activities:
- 12 hours of taiko workshops (4 workshops @3 hours each)
- Admission to our Taiko Open Mic Night
- Discussion sessions with our instructors and other special guests
- The opportunity to save on shipping costs for quality taiko equipment pre-ordered from ASANO TAIKO U.S.
- And LOTS of great opportunities to connect, including informal lunchtime roundtable discussions and optional night owl/early bird activities
We’ve got you covered for food, too.
All registrations include lunch and dinner on both Saturday and Sunday. If you’re staying on campus, you also get breakfast on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
If you choose to stay in our campus accommodations
Your registration covers your room for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights (yup, that’s THREE nights for about the same price as you’d pay for a single night at a local hotel) … which gives you plenty of extra time for taiko camaraderie!

Parking
If you’re bringing a car to UMD, we’ll direct you to a lot where you can park for free during the conference. HOWEVER! If you’ll be parking on campus on Friday BEFORE 4pm OR on Monday AFTER 8am, you’ll also need to pick up a campus parking pass for $20 per weekday. (Trust us, you don’t want to get a UMD parking ticket!)
Conference T-shirt!
When you register, you can pre-order a super-snazzy conference t-shirt for $22. The past couple years have been rough on everyone, so we’ve upgraded to a new, super-soft, ring-spun cotton style for our CONNECT 2022 shirts! We also have THREE colors* to choose from. … pick your favorite or get one of each (the “taikons” are pretty awesome, and back by popular demand)!
* Supply chain issues are still real, yo. It’s possible that some color/size combos may not be available this summer, but we’ll do everything possible to get you the t-shirt of your dreams (or work with you to get a great backup option)!
What happens if my plans change?
If something comes up and you have to cancel your registration…
- between 21 March and 7 May, you will receive a full refund
- between 8 May and 14 July, you will receive a 50% refund
- after 14 July – sorry, but we are unable to offer refunds in the two weeks prior to the event.
