NEW FOR SUMMER 2024!
Join us for a special Mini-Session of taiko fun! This 4-week class is for taiko players at all levels. In the spirit of summer, this session will be more relaxed than our regular classes – think of it as your own taiko summer camp (sorry kids – this camp is for those 16 and up!).
Of course, we’ll still have plenty of cool stuff to learn! Together we’ll develop an awareness of taiko techniques, using Mark H’s infamous “standard book of rhythms” (IYKYK). We’ll try out some fun games and drills (are you ready to be the next “Taiko Uno” champion??). And, most important of all, we’ll explore the idea of “kumidaiko” – the unique way that a group of people with a wide range of skills, abilities, and backgrounds can come together to the beat of each other’s drums.

Prerequisite: One of Mark H’s Intro Workshops -OR- previous taiko experience. If you’ve never played taiko before, please register for one of our Introductory Taiko Workshops (offered about four times each year).
