Spring Recreational Taiko Class begins May 5!

FEE: $220 for class series (8 sessions) or $35 drop-in rate

Naname Uchi (“Slanted Stand”) Class

Another session of Naname Uchi (“Slanted Style”) Class is about to begin!

Prerequisite: class is open to anyone receiving instructor’s permission (some taiko experience required).

This series of classes is designed as a style-focused advanced taiko course. “Slanted Style”  is more challenging, dynamic and movement-oriented.

Bachi Tricks Return!

FEE:$35 per person/$30 for current Mark H Rooney Taiko studients

Learn how to spin, throw and catch your bachi as a way to spice up your solo, performance or composition. Basic and advanced tricks will be taught as well as exercises for how to practice them.  Mark H will also reveal the secrets to making simple tricks appear more impressive and the deeper universal philosophies behind these (seemingly) superfluous skills.

Some taiko experience is required, but you do not need to be an expert to enjoy and profit from this workshop!
