Ever wanted to try playing more than just one taiko?

Set Playing
About this class
This 8-week class focuses on helping you develop your taiko mojo! Want to broaden the range of what you can express through taiko? Ready to expand your taiko abilities? Then this is the class for you!
Traditional taiko is usually all about “one drum, one drummer” … but in contemporary kumidaiko, we like to mix it up! In the Mark H Taiko School, you’ll often see taiko players on sets of two or more drums – and if you’ve SEEN some awesome set playing, you’ve probably wanted to learn how to DO some awesome set playing yourself!
This class will focus on ambidexterity, bachi control, and other techniques like changing your grip that will not only help you when playing across two (or more!) taiko, but in ALL of your taiko playing.

Please note that this is NOT a beginners’ class. The pacing will be faster and the expectations higher than in Rec Class. Whether you are new to set playing or you’ve already got some experience, we guarantee you’ll find this class both fun and challenging!
