Do you ever feel like you just don’t have enough time to REALLY play taiko the way you’d like? Most of us only get to spend a couple of short hours each week with a taiko. And let’s be honest: that just isn’t enough to really build your skills as a taiko player.
Luckily, we have a solution! Mark H Taiko is proud to host a special kaDON intensive with Shoji Kameda.
This workshop includes TEN HOURS of taiko instruction in two days. The focus of the workshop will be on building skills and techniques that anyone can use to be more creative with their taiko playing. We’ll work on creating different tones on the taiko, becoming more sensitive players, expanding our listening, and take our first steps toward improvisation and composition. This intensive is open to all skill levels* with the only requirement being an open mind and an enthusiasm for trying something new!
(*basic taiko experience recommended)
This awesome intensive is coming up soon: Saturday, August 20 (12:00 – 8:00 pm) Sunday, August 21 (10:30am – 2:30pm). It will take place at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland in College Park. Register before August 1st to get the special early bird pricing of $150.
